Making a pre-visit to Milestones

We strongly recommend that if you have booked a school visit to Milestones you take the opportunity to make a free pre-visit to the museum to enable you and your school to have a successful visit.

There are two ways you can do this.

Arrange a meeting with our Education Officer

A meeting with our Education Officer will allow you to

  • Have a run through of the programme you are interested in
  • See the spaces and resources you will be using on your visit
  • See the activity sheets we can provide
  • Begin to fill in your risk assessment
  • Talk through any questions you may have about your visit

This meeting is also ideal if you haven't yet made a booking and would just like to know more about what Milestones can offer for school groups.

These meetings may take place Tuesday to Friday during normal opening hours.

If you would like to arrange a meeting please telephone Milestones' reception on 01256 477766 and ask to speak to the Education Officer who will arrange an appointment to see you at a mutually convenient time.

Familiarisation visits

If you feel that you would like to make a self guided pre-visit to familiarise yourself with the layout of the building and complete your risk assessment for example, you can arrange a familiarisation visit.

These can be made Tuesday - Sunday during normal opening hours. Please call our reception on 01256 477766 to arrange complimentary admission before arriving.

During this visit you will have access to our Reference Folder for Schools which has details of all our programmes for schools and copies of our activity sheets.
